The View - Cafe & Bistro
Constanta, Romania
Located next to the Black Sea promenade, in the immediate proximity of the Casino in Constanta, the inside of the View Restaurant is a tribute brought to the Art Deco style, reinterpreted in a contemporary way.
Art Deco, short for Arts Décoratifs, is characterized by rich colors, bold geometry, and decadent works of detail. This style reached the peak of its popularity in 1920, 30, and 40, evoking luxury and order, through symmetrical patterns and lines in exuberant shapes. It also contrasts with the organic and fluid forms of its predecessor, Art Nouveau, used at Casino.
However, it was necessary to personalize the furniture to create both an elegant and inviting ambiance – the feeling of reading ‘Décorrection modern dans l’intérieur’ by Henri Delacroix, 1935.
The furniture pieces are made from a selection of high-quality materials, mainly using velvet in vibrant colors and copper or brass finishes, giving the interior a special air. Each piece of furniture masterfully represents the balance between lines, comfort, and functionality.
Likewise, the glazed walls create a sense of brightness, a feeling accentuated by the faceted mirrors that reflect the marine landscape from the outside.
For the floor was chosen white terrazzo with colorful accents, visually broken by asymmetric lines and finished with steel.
